Euro Tour: Paris Day 1

May 25th

To start our first day off in Paris we took a bus tour through the city. An Austrian couple came to Paris specifically to give us a detailed account of the city (one on each bus). Most of the morning we drove through the busy streets and learned a bit about the history of Paris and France in general. Every once in a while we would stop to look at a famous garden or landmark (the Eiffel tower of course) and grab a drink. One of those stops was at a huge sky scraper (well it was huge for me, people think I'm an idiot when I ogle at the structural-monstrocities). The view from up there was truly one to remember. One can see all across Paris, in its immense entirety. Big cities remain to be something new and exciting for me - Billings being the biggest in Montana with only 100,000 people. We all had a fun time taking pictures and milling about on top of the world, but after about an hour we had to take the elevator back down and load onto the bus. We passed through the business-center of Paris as well and my jaw dropped. Sky scrapers are big. Jesus. When lunch arrived we were allowed some free time, I went with Keegan, Erin and Thayane. We perused the streets before taking the subway back for dinner. After dinner though, I went also with Keegan, Erin and Jesse to the Eiffel Tower, to watch it light up as the sky darkened.
